Representative of Azerbaijan in Muslim Fraction in IV

State Duma M. Yu.Jafarov, summer 1914:

“If the Russian Army brings freedom to foreign nations and moreover, the same freedom should be given to numerous nations, comprising the Russian Empire”.

M.E. Rasulzadeh: this hope for gaining the independence, as a result of war, stated in newspaper “Achiq soz” of which he is the editor. M.E. Rasulzadeh wrote that, this war will end with peace which will strengthen independence of oppressed countries - otherwise this peace will not last longer.

Fathali Khan Khoyski, 1914: “Whoever wins this war, will be weakened and wounded. But we are strong and not wounded will be able to demand and not to request. We are expecting from Romanov’s house much the same as from Osmanov’s house. Independence, that what we need. And the weaker become the Great Powers after the war; the closer will be freedom for us. This freedom will start from us, and our gathered strength, our finance and our oil”.
